After learning all about polygons, polyhedrons and Sierpinski Triangles, we can move onto a new fun shape: PolyYurts!
Start with a polygon shape as the base (help as needed – great time to talk about what makes it a polygon!), and let the kids problem-solve how to build up from there.
For example, a HexaYurt would start with a hexagon as the base, and then build up from there. Perhaps with 6 square walls, leading to 6 triangle roof pieces, coming to a point in the middle (peak)…but there are many many other creative solutions! Have fun!
